I am looking to backup my granddaughter's laptop (Windows 11) Documents folders. If I turn on windows backup to One drive and synch folders, Does her data stay on her laptop and is backed up to One Drive or does the data move to One Drive. I prefer her data stay on the laptop since she is not always connected to Wi-Fi.

It would be both; copies of the files/folders will be up in OneDrive as well as staying locally on the laptop. You can determine the status of the files and folders by a little overlapping icon on the file/folder. OneDrive Icon Meanings

I went through several iterations to break the synch. What I finally did was copy all the folders in One Drive to a local eternal drive. Then I deleted from One Drive & empty recycle bin. That did not change "over limit". I went to Settings Windows backup and turned off folder synching but that kept restarting. I forced the One Drive app to close and that seemed to stop the Synch. One Drive in Windows backup is "Not Synching" now. I then then transferred from external drive to Laptop "Documents" folder. I checked One Drive and it is "sync not present" there. I will watch the next several days to ensure the synch has stopped.

I'm looking for any information on my 7 year old granddaughter that I have helped raise all up until my daughter's boyfriend got out of prison he took my granddaughter from me and he is not even her father. How does he get away with this i would like to know??
