Moderation for Channel "posts"/"messages"

Channels have "Conversations" and "replies". In Manage Channel there's the ability to allow people to "post" "messages" -- it references both of these terms but it seems to be the same thing, and it's not clear which post is a "conversation" and which is a "reply". The semantics are very confusing, can somebody clarify?

The setting you are referring to affects who can start a new "thread" within a channel. They will still be able to reply to existing conversations/threads. And, yes, the description is confusing, and me throwing in yet another term is probably not helping either :)

    Hi @41844108

Yes, the offcial document is not refer the difference between "reply" and "message".

Based on my understanding, every post in Teams channel could be considered as "message". Each message under the post could be identified as "reply".
