Win 10 version 2004
no internet connection but can access internet

And I can browse internet , but the icon on the bottom right corner keep showing a "global" icon .
https://www.mobigyaan.com/change-language-windows-10 << there is a fix here

Open Windows Registry Editor. To do so, search for the term “Registry Editor” in the Start Menu.
Now, navigate to the following location:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesNlaSvcParametersInternet”
Modify “EnableActiveProbing” and change the value from ‘0’ to ‘1’.
Now, restart your computer and the problem will be fixed.

but in my case it's already 1 for this registry key. any idea ?

    Hello,

I confirm that the problem persists despite the installation of version 20h2.

In our case when the proxy is activated we have the indication that we do not have internet.

If the proxy is not activated on the same computer, we have no problem.

If I put a laptop on a docking station with an ethernet link, windows indicates that I have internet. If I remove the pc from the docking station and switch to wifi, the pc indicates that I no longer have internet when I can go on the internet without any problem.

The only change is my ip address.

I did not try to put fixed ip knowing that I have in addition to ip reserved in my dhcp so my pc never changes address

All PCs in 1909 or later no problem whether or not they have the proxy

    Hi,

Regarding "Win 10 version 2004/20H2 no internet connection but can access internet" issue, here is a workaround for your reference.

Make sure [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet] EnableActiveProbing set to 1.

Make sure passive probing be enabled as well. In case active probing fails, passive probing can also detect internet unless it’s disabled by GPO. Check below to make sure you didn’t disable passive probing. If it is, enable it and test again.

Group Policy path: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network Connectivity Status Indicator

Setting: "Specify passive polling" = Enabled, uncheck "Disable passive polling"

This GPO setting can be also confirmed from this registry key:

[HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator] NoActiveProbe set to 0 (should either not present or value must be 0)

Restart the machine and see if NCSI still reports no internet.

In addition, make sure you have patched your OS with fully windows updates.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

    Hello,

Patches Tuesday are proposed but still no correction of this problem.

As a reminder, on our side as soon as a computer or laptop in version 2004 or 20H2 is configured with the proxy, this one with the no internet connection error.

If on the same station, we remove the proxy and authorize the station to go on the internet directly, the concern is no longer relevant but which poses security problems for us.

We are therefore obliged to format the workstations and install them in version 1909 so as not to have any more problems with the proxy activated.

When will a correction from Microsoft !!!!!

The following registry entries worked for me immediately, and retain after multiple reboots. Even if there are no values present under the NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator Key, add the one shown below and see if it helps.

    Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet
    Type: DWORD
    Value: EnableActiveProbing
    Data: 1

    Key: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator
    Type: DWORD
    Value: NoActiveProbe
    Data: 0

If issues persist, I recommend wiping and reloading the OS w/ 2004 or 20H2 (whichever is your preference). An In-Place Upgrade will not resolve this issue.
