Hello all . Since a few days I observe a strange error on one of our terminal servers : On said Terminlaserver 2016 were installed a few days ago pending Windowsupdate . Since then it seems that new files can no longer be opened by double clicking .
Example :
I download or copy any file (csv, xlsx, docx, pdf, etc.) from our cloud or the Internet . This file then lands in the folder "Downloads" for example, I want to open the file with a double click, but it does not work. Nothing happens, also an error message does not appear . The function "open with" or "open" in the context menu does not work either . If I open the file from a program (e.g. Word) it works.
The problem remains as long as the file is somewhere on the drive C:\ . If I move the file to a network drive, e.g. file server, everything works fine. Moreover, it seems to affect only newer files, with files of older date the problem does not occur at all.
The settings in the folder options for opening with double-click I have checked and the double-click speed of the mouse settings is also okay.
Maybe someone here knows the problem or can offer me a solution.
Thanks a lot Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
