How to fix read aloud error

Hello all, I am having an issue with the read-aloud function in Word. When I start the read-aloud, the voice reads the document at a normal cadence but, after a while, will randomly begin to read it as if there is a period after every word. For example, The (stop) cow (stop) jumped (stop) over (stop) the (stop) moon. I checked the reading speed bar to see if that changes when this happens, and it doesn't. I've also tried using different voices to see if that would fix it, and that also doesn't work. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Thanks!

    Hi @Autumn R

Could you please check which version of Office are you using now?

To get this information, you may go to Word > File > Account > Product Information to have a check.

Please make sure the Office is updated to the latest.

If the Office is already the latest, I suggest you perform an Online Repair for Office from Control Panel.

I also suggest you ao to Task Management > Performance to check if your PC's hardware usage is high.
