I had the same issue these days. The following steps did the trick for me:

Add or Remove Programs -> Find MS teams (work or school) -> Repair + Reset

After that, my camera in Teams started working again.

    Hi @Andrea Young

Does the Teams web client have the same problem?

There are several possible solutions you can try to fix it. Here are some suggestions:

    • Restart your laptop or PC and restart Teams.
    • If you have a USB camera, disconnect it and reconnect it, or connect it through a different port.
    • Log out of your Teams account and end all Microsoft Teams processes in the Task Manager before launching Teams again.
    • Make sure you have the latest Windows or Mac OS update and Teams app version installed.
    • Disable GPU hardware acceleration.
    • Run the MS Team app in compatibility mode for Windows.
    • Make a test call in Teams settings to check your mic, speaker, and camera.

My Workaround is at the Moment.

Go to the camera settings in the team settings.

Activate the slider for brightness . An image should now be displayed again.

Alternatively, select the camera once again.
Then deactivate and activate the brightness setting (if activated)

The image should now appear again.

My workaround is to switch back to classic teams, my camera works there, but it appears that Microsoft is forcing me to switch to the new Teams on 7/1/24. I hope they fix this camera bug before then because based on my Google search it's affecting a lot of other folks besides me. In the meantime, our company is switching to Zoom for all meetings.

    Hello,

My work-around is to delete the old cached graphic card shaders which may be corrupt.

    Simple steps to take:

    1. Close old/New MS Teams version installed.
    2. Press Start > Disk cleanup > select Local System drive > select: direct X shader chache, temporary files and Thumbnails > press ok >
    3. Open MS Teams

Note: the issue can be related with GPU shaders which are corrupt making the video black in MS teams. removing these cached files will resolt in creating new files which are not corrupt ending up showing the video display as it should. It helped in my case.
