Visual Studio Blocks (App Suggestion)
Dear Microsoft Team,
I hope this message finds you well. As a non-coder, I have always found it challenging to learn how to code. I have tried various online resources, but they all seem to assume some prior knowledge of coding, making it hard for me to keep up.
That's why I want to suggest creating a new app that is a mix of Visual Studio and VSCode, called "Visual Studio Blocks." This app will be specifically designed for beginners with no prior coding experience. The app will use block-based coding, making it easy for users to create code without worrying about syntax errors or complex programming concepts.
As you may know, Microsoft already has an app called Microsoft MakeCode, which is designed for kids. However, I believe that there is a gap in the market for an app that caters to non-coders who are new to coding. Visual Studio Blocks could fill that gap and provide an excellent platform for individuals like me who want to learn to code.
The app could also offer programming languages as block coding options. This would allow users to learn various languages like C++, Java, Python, and more in a more intuitive way. As users become more familiar with coding, they could switch to traditional coding methods with syntax highlighting and other more advanced features.
Furthermore, adding an extensions feature would make the app even more versatile. This would allow users to add more functionality to their code and further enhance their learning experience.
In conclusion, I believe that creating Visual Studio Blocks would be an excellent addition to Microsoft's lineup of programming tools.
It would cater to a market that has been largely overlooked and provide a valuable learning resource for individuals like me who want to learn to code but have no prior experience.
I hope you will consider my suggestion and create this new app for Windows, Mac, and iPad.
And also, make it completely free without any subscription!
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Salem
