How do I set the price of a Windows App in the Microsoft App Store?

I currently have my first app in the Microsoft Store. The package is an MSI file. When submitting it, I selected "Paid: One-off payment" and now the store displays the word, "Paid" where the price should be. I have spent many hours trying to research and find out how to set the price.

Here is the instructions from the documentation:

"You are required to select a base price for your app (unless you have selected the Stop acquisition option under Make this app available but not discoverable in the Store in the Visibility section), choosing either Free or one of the available price tiers. You can also schedule price changes to indicate the date and time at which your app’s price should change. Additionally, you have the option to customize these changes for specific markets. Microsoft periodically updates the recommended prices, to account for currency fluctuations in different markets. When a recommended price changes, the pricing area will show a warning indicator if the prices you’ve selected are not aligned with the new recommended values. The prices in your products will not change, you are in control of when and if you want to update these prices."

Where are all these options?? I do not have even the option to set the base price.

If I find my own app in the store, I find that I can install it for free.

My app uploads data for its license to my server when it runs (when already installed). I can see from the server that there have been about 100 installations. However, analytics state there has been only one. There are 4 reviews of the app - 4/5 stars and one of 1 star, no comments. Analytics also reports 2 error codes ("Installer Return Codes").

All of this makes me extremely confused. Are there sections missing from my Partner Center pages? Does the submission process or the Apps and Games section of the Partner Center have glitches or errors? There are other apps in the store that have a one-off price - how did they do it? How do you set the price??

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

If you want to publish EXE/MSI apps, you will need to implement pricing & payment mechanism within your app by yourself for your app or other add-ons of your app. Currently, there is no official payment or pricing mechanism for EXE/MSI apps in the store. The document for exe and MSI apps is more like a note.

Then if your app has implemented pricing, payment is not processed through the Store like MSIX apps, you will need to work with a third-party payment service.

    Thank you.
