Good morning.

We have a clean install of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager v2203.

We have problems with remote client access. The Configuration Manager Remote Control service is disabled for us after manually enabling and starting it.

We have tried several things but we can't get the service to stay running.

Hi, @Alberto IG

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

We may check if Windows Firewall service is disabled? The remote control service will fail to install because it cannot create the firewall exception rule.

And also check in the Remote tools settings, click Configure and enable the remote tools. That will configure the service to start automatically.

Good morning Allen.

We have tried what you have suggested, but the service continues to be disabled. We have even disabled the Firewall on both computers for testing, but nothing.

The CmRcService.log file tells us the following:

=====Starting service CmRcService=====

The ConfigMgr administrator has disabled the Remote Control feature for this machine, Remote Control Service will be disabled now.

The service has stopped

Anyway, just to make sure, which ports, on which computers (client or server), inbound or outbound.

As a note, we have the SCCM and the SQL Server on the same server.

Do you have any other custom client setting configured the Remote Tools apart from the default client setting?

No. We only have the "Default Client Settings" configured, as it is in the screenshot you posted above.
