Authenticator not working

I was forced to create a "on.microsoft" account in order to subscribe to Microsoft project. Everything worked fine at initial setup. Now that i would like to manage the subscription, when i sign into that account it asks for the authentication. I open the authenticator app but receive no notificaions or prompts. I can see the azure account with that signin address. I tried authenticating a sign in with my main microsoft account and it worked flawlessly.

    For a work or school account you can add an authentication device here

    https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

    then using the generated QR code you can link up the authentication device.

    If you are the only global admin on the account and are blocked entirely, you can reach out to the Azure Data Protection team to restore access. 866-807-5850

    Also, for the future, you can create an emergency access account (break glass) in Azure AD. This account will help prevent being accidentally locked out of your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) organization because you can't sign in for any reason. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/roles/security-emergency-access
