Users must log off and back on after being added to a new AD group in order for the group to be added to their access token. The user will still be able to access the folder even if the group hasn't been added to their access token. In this case, the local server evaluates local groups, and the user need not log off for the rights to take effect.
There are two sets of permissions for shared folders that you must manage. Giving "Everyone" or "Authenticated Users" Full Control at the share level is the ideal way to handle permissions. After that, set the NTFS security to reflect the level of access you want your users to have. Please thus check for discrepancies between the NTFS and Share permissions.

Additionally, specify the NTFS permissions to the groups you wish to have access and choose one of the following options for Share Permissions: Authenticated Users, Domain Users R/W, or Full
