OneNote Logged Into Wrong Account - Can't change it

Question

OneNote randomly gave me a sync error message and I can't edit any of the notes I've been using all day. The sync error shows that I'm logged into an incorrect email.

There is no option to logout, only login. When I try to login with the correct email, it gives me an error message: "Another account from your organization is already signed in on this device. Try again with a different account."

All of my other microsoft apps are logged into the correct email.

I've tried deleting the onenote app and redownloading it to my computer. It opened logged in to the wrong email again.

The incorrect email that OneNote says I'm logged in under is a secondary email I have added to my outlook. It's a general company email box I share with other employees. I can't just delete that account completely.

Here are some troubleshooting methods deserve to have a try for this issue on MacOS.

• If you are using Microsoft 365 office, Go to File >> Account and update Office to the latest.

• Delete password entries using Keychain Access app for Mac app.
• If the issue still persists, use this tool: https://office-reset.com and select the following option :
