Dear Team,

The windwos firewall has been all closed, SMB settings have been set up, the PC that opens SMB in the same LAN, other devices (Mac, iPhone, other PCs) cannot connect through SMB, but the PC that turns on SMB can resume the link after restarting, but after a period of time (an hour to a few hours) can not be linked.

How do I troubleshoot and fix the problem, which has been bothering me for a long time and has not found a solution.

Hope that helps.

    Hello Huijie,

Thank you for your question and for reaching out with your question today.

My first suggestion is to check that your system is fully up to date with all Windows updates, especially security patches. there may be a patch or update that has not been installed. The network and file sharing feature is enabled by default on Windows 11 for private networks. However, if it’s not working, you can double-check the settings and re-enable them if necessary.

The SMB protocol has three versions V1, V2 and V3. When you enable V2, Windows will enable V3 as well. First, you can check SMB is already enabled on your PC from Windows PowerShell app.

Type the following command and press enter key.

    Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select EnableSMB2Protocol

You may want to disable and re-enable SMB via PowerShell to see if that resolves the intermittent issue:

    Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $false

    Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $true
