Assign App to Group: IT Admin is not able to change License Type during group assignment

When issue is happening:

IT Admin has deployed iOS app (integrated with ms-intune-app-sdk-ios and IT admin is trying to update group assignment of this app (Login to Intune Portal: https://endpoint.microsoft.com/ --> Apps --> All Apps --> Search for "Appian for Intune" --> Open app --> Go to Properties)  (Related Microsoft Docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/quickstart-add-assign-app#assign-the-app-to-a-group)

 

Details of the issue:

IT Admin is not able to change License Type during group assignment.

By default "Device licensing" type is selected and "User Licensing" is disabled. IT admin wants to use "User Licensing" as License Type

Ask/Question:

Please let us know, why is this issue happening ?

Do we need to change something in iOS app (Integrated with MS Intune App SDK) to make it work. If yes, please let us know what needs to be done at mobile app level.

    Based as I know, for VPP, there's option to change the licensing type. Could you confirm if the "Appian for Intune" is deployed via VPP?
