We have mutliple students at our faculty that have trouble writing in word when the internet access is blocked because of tests and exams. When they try to write something in word, the cursor hangs and the message word is not responding appears. After a couple of seconds writing text in word continue as normal, but after some time word hangs again. Maybe one time every 20 seconds it hangs when there are problems with this.

Word and writing text in word works on teh same computers as normal without hangs when there is access to internet present. This problem happens only when there is no internet access.

Is this a known issue? What steps can we take to resolve this issue?

    Hi @Videik

Could you please check which version of Office are you using?

To get this information, you may go to Word > File > Account > Product Information, check the Version Name and Version Number.

Then I suggest you run Word in Safe Mode to have a check with no Internet connection. Safe Mode can help us troubelshoot the COM Add-ins and startup items.

Please hold on Ctrl key, click or double-click Word icon, until Word asks do you want to start it in safe mode, then please release Ctrl key and click "Yes".

Besides, if a wireless printer is connected, it is recommended to disconnect it for a test.
