When I turn on Narrator,

and run the install shield install pkg (or launching the popup with progress bar),

then the focus is going to the app window(or popup window),

but suddenly the focus is jumping when there is any progress bar updating.

How do I prevent this jumping?

    Hi,

Can you explain in detail how the focus jumps? I tested on my Windows 10 computer however the narrator focus kept on the InstallShield installer during the installation.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue

    Hello!

I wanted to share some tips with you on how to prevent the focus from jumping when using Narrator with a progress bar. Here's what you can do:

First, adjust your Narrator settings. Press the Windows key + Ctrl + N to open the settings. Then go to "Change what you hear when interacting" and make sure the "Hear advanced information" option is enabled. This will give you more details about progress bar updates so you can stay focused.

Next, try using scan mode. Press Caps Lock + Spacebar to activate it. This way, you can navigate through elements on the screen without the focus automatically moving. Just use the arrow keys to move through the progress bar or other elements.

Hope these tips help you out!
