Translation issue after language pack installation

Hi,

I installed .NET 4.7.2 language pack for chinese-simplified. But my default strings where not gets translated. I can't able to find the presentationcore.resources dll in the windows folder. Please help me out if you know any solution for this.

May I ask several questions to confirm this issue first:

How did you install the .NET 4.7.2 language pack? From nuget.org, from VS Installer > Modify > Language packs or from…?

What type of project are you using? C#, VB…? WinForm, Web, Console application…?

What kind of strings are you going to translate? Could you share some code or screenshots?

If you type to search presentationcore.resources in File Explorer, will you find it?

The type of project I am using is WPF.

I am trying to translate context menu of textbox(Which will appear when we right click on top of a text box).

I can able to see the presentationCore.resources under the below mentioned path. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\WPF\zh-Hans

I tried for German language, its working fine and I have resource files under C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\PresentationCore.resources but I can't able to find the same for chinese.

Hi @Badri Narayanan,

Does installing the language pack by opening Settings(Windows) > Time & language > Language & region > Add a language > Chinese (Simplified, China), meet your requirements?

I tried to test to install several language packs through Settings, and after finishing installing them, the related PresentationCore.resources.dll file appeared in this folder C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\PresentationCore.resources.

I installed that language pack but still I can't able to see any resource files in that path. Can you please give me a solution of how to reinstall that in a proper way so that it will reflect in that folder.

Hi @Badri Narayanan,

Please make sure that you have installed the language package from following three ways:

From VS Installer > Modify > Language packs.

From .NET DOWNLOAD website which you have shared above.

From Windows OS > Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Add a language.

After installing the package, try to reboot your machine and check if it exists.
