Issue on SharePoint OneDrive Sync and Office Document Properties

Question

Hello!

I am facing an issue I cannot find anyone mentioning before, which is interested.

Scenario:

SharePoint library with mandatory metadata -> Open Word -> Save As -> SharePoint Library with the mandatory metadata -> Word Auto Shows SPO Properites Box -> User enters metadata

This scenario works really well! Unless I sync to OneDrive

SharePoint library with mandatory metadata and OneDrive is Synced to the library-> Open Word -> Save As -> SharePoint Library with the mandatory metadata -> File Saves -> File acts as if checked out -> not possible to input SPO metadata through Word

It's really odd and I cannot figure out why or how the sync to OneDrive is causing this or what the remedy could be.
