Today 05/23/2023 I was browsing the web and out of nowhere when I entered a page an extension called apps was installed that would not let me deactivate it and every time I search for something in the browser it sends me to a page called bestsearch.ai and the antivirus pops up, it doesn't let me search for anything and that was installed for google chrome and microsoft edge and I don't know how to remove it because it appears that I am not an administrator since this is my computerUser's image

Download and install Malwarebytes, it's a free application.

Boot into Safe mode and scan your system with this anti-malware application.

    Hi @Cristóbal González

Looks like it changes your registry settings to install the extension and prevents you from removing it.

This policy ExtensionInstallForcelist can force installing extensions. You can open Registry Editor and check the registry settings under below path: SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\ExtensionInstallForcelist. Check if it contains the extension id, if there is, you can remove the registry key and the extension will also be removed.

    Hello there,

I would suggest you to run a full system scan using defender and other Microsoft tools.

Microsoft Safety Scanner is a scan tool designed to find and remove malware from Windows computers. Simply download it and run a scan to find malware and try to reverse changes made by identified threats.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
