Can I use my existing domain name for Microsoft Teams essential account

Nguyen Nam 0 Reputation points

Hi Experts,

I am currently using Microsoft Teams with a default domain name from Microsoft, together with my own business domain name provided by Google for Gmail contacts.

I would like to know if it's possible to use my existing business domain name to register Microsoft Teams instead of using the default domain.

If it is possible, could you please provide the necessary steps or guidance on how to do so?

Thank you!

    Hi @Nguyen Nam

Yes, it is possible to use your own business domain name to register Microsoft Teams. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and sign in with your admin credentials.
    2. Click on "Settings" and then "Domains".
    3. Click on "Add domain" and enter your business domain name.
    4. Follow the steps to verify your domain ownership.
    5. Once your domain is verified, go to "Teams settings" and then "Org-wide settings".
    6. Click on "Domains" and then "Add domain".
    7. Enter your business domain name and follow the steps to verify ownership.
    8. Once your domain is verified, you can set it as the default domain for your organization.
