Hi Kamal Saluja,

Thank you for posting query in Microsoft Q&A Platform.

If it's some new functionality or new feature or enhancement to feature, then we will be notified with in the ADF studio under notifications. Initially any feature will be released on public preview only. Slowly over the time it will be labeled as GA (general availability) if all goes well. And these features will not break existing functionalities.

If your ask is about background tech stack version upgrades of ADF itself? Then they are not controlled by customers. It's completely handled by Azure itself as ADF is PaaS service.

For any reason, if you see new feature release breaks your existing functionality (which should not be the case) then I would encourage you to post question in Microsoft Q&A Platform. Also consider having Support case to detailed investigation and resolution.

Thanks for the answer. May be we can fine tune our question better.

For example there is an update on a new feature to introduce (or) adjust existing feature in ADF based on either some customer request or as per your product road map. This update will be tested by MS ADF product development team internally before you make it available for public. Now our question is we are working for a client where we are productively using ADF in combination of snowflake. And now can we be informed 10 days or 5 days in advance when the updates are about to be released for general public? and made them available for us in non-productive accounts for example to test them so that we can avoid surprises in production job"

FYI - snowflake is informing us 10-14 days in advance, list of patch updates expected to be released and give us opportunity to have access to them before they are available for public preview"

Hi Kamal Saluja,
Little confusion here, MS team actually inform all customers in announce feature as public preview. Now, Users may opt for implementing that feature in their environments or may not opt. Its completely up to customers.
Now, lets assume if any new feature released and announced as public preview, then you can consider that feature to implement in your test environments first and if all feels good then only consider it for production.

No, you won't be having any control over the updates, they are taken care by azure in the background. Only thing that you can control is the update of self-hosted integration runtime which you can enable, disable or schedule them.
