We are using outlook add-in for accessing external application where within the outlook panel external web app is having 'Email' icon & where on-Click operation is defined in the backend .

For the windows 10 users , the add-in redirects them to the Microsoft store asking them to install a new app. After they do onclick on the icon , it keeps redirecting them to the store. Image below:

Where as the Windows 11 & Mac users are not facing this issue .

Expectation : The backend on-Click operation should work smoothly without any popup / unusual redirects in windows 10 users too just like it is working for windows 11 & mac users.

    Hello there,

As the issue is specific to Windows 10 devices, Have you made any recent updates that you are aware of on this device? If so try uninstalling them and check if this sorts out the issue.

Please check the System event in Event Viewer to confirm if there is any related event has been logged.

Any one of the Outlook-rich clients can disable an add-in for performance reasons, including exceeding usage thresholds for CPU core or memory, tolerance for crashes, and length of time to process all the regular expressions for an add-in. When this happens, the Outlook rich client displays a notification that it is disabling the add-in.

Only Outlook rich clients monitor resource usage, but disabling an add-in in an Outlook rich client also disables the add-in in Outlook on the web and mobile devices.

    Troubleshoot Outlook add-in activation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/outlook/troubleshoot-outlook-add-in-activation

Hope this resolves your Query !!
