When I am creating a new PostgresSQL Flexible Server in West Europe, the option for zone redundant is disabled and only two availability zones are in the list.

    Hi Nelson Pérez •,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for using Azure Services.

As I understand you are unable to find Zone Redundant Option in Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server.

As we could see that Zone 1 is not available for the region in use for this server.

Zone 2 and Zone 3 are available in dropdown. Please try selecting these and you would be able to create Flexible Server successfully.

This should help. Do let us know if you face any issue or have any queries.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Nelson Pérez

    Thanks for your question.

The option Zone redundant is disabled because Zone-Redundant HA is not available for West Europe region.

Please find Azure regions details in below document

    Hope this helps.

Please let us know if you need any further information.

    Thanks Rahul Randive,

Your answer ha been so useful for us, just two last questions:

    • What is the reason for Zone-Redundant HA for PostgreSQL Flexible server not being available in the West Europe region?
    • Will this situation be addressed and resolved in the near future?

    Thanks in advance.

I am facing the same issue, and still in the decisioning phase. At this time I cannot determine if it's a good idea to start using this service because I don't know if it will be possible in the future to run with zone-redundant HA in west-EU. Providing information that it's temporarily blocked is not very helpful if there is no indication why and in what timeline it's expected to be available again.

Could you please provide a status update on why this is blocked and when this should be resolved? I would say this information should actually already be on the help page for people who are still unsure if they can use it.
