Hi,
If you're unable to use Microsoft Excel 2003 on your new laptop and Microsoft 365* does not support Excel 2003 files, you have a few options:
Upgrade to a newer version of Microsoft Excel: Consider upgrading to a more recent version of Microsoft Excel, such as Excel 2010, Excel 2013, Excel 2016, Excel 2019, or Excel for Microsoft 365. These versions support newer file formats and offer more features and compatibility.
- Convert Excel 2003 files to a supported format: If you have important Excel 2003 files that you need to access, you can convert them to a newer file format that is compatible with your current version of Excel. To do this, open the Excel 2003 file in Excel 2003 (if you can), and then save it as a newer file format such as XLSX or XLSM. You can then open the converted file in your current version of Excel.
- If you prefer not to upgrade Excel or convert your files, you can consider using alternative spreadsheet software that supports Excel 2003 files like LibreOffice Calc, Apache OpenOffice Calc, Google Sheets. These programs often have support for older file formats and can open Excel 2003 files.
NOTE- Make backups of your important Excel 2003 files to avoid any data loss or compatibility issues.
Best Regards.
