Outlook does open and then not and then again and then not.....

We have users working on citrix. We have an Exchange server 2016 cu23 and latest updates. Outlook 2016 latest updates.

Config of Outlook is: primary mailbox of the user and one or more extra mailboxes. Adding a shared mailbox is no problem. We set delegation on Exchange EMC and done.

But for some mailboxes we use "add account" in the Outlook profile. So we restart Outlook and then fill in the credentials of that extra account and done. Then we close Outlook.

Then we start Outlook again and at then Outlook does not open again.

"Outlook cannot open folders.... check if network is ok....." But pinging the mailserver is ok, opening the mailbox via webbrowser is ok, resolving name is ok, autodiscover is pointing to mailserver, ....

When we keep trying to open, sometimes Outlook opens, sometimes not.

Sometimes we recreate the Outlook profile and sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Some users have this problems, other users not. Everyone has the same config for working....

What could be a possible reason for this very strange behaviour?

    Based on my research, Outlook might have some stability issues in Citrix environments, see the article below:

    So, in order to help narrow down the issue, if possible, you can consider testing in a non-citrix environment and monitor some time to see if there’s any improvement.
