@Sharma, Praghya (CONTRACTOR) - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.
Microsoft Purview supports data lineage for Power BI reports that are built on top of a Power BI dataset. This means that if you have a Power BI report that is based on a dataset that has been registered in Purview, you can view the data lineage for that report in Purview.
However, there are some limitations to the types of Power BI reports that support data lineage in Purview. As of now, Purview only supports data lineage for Power BI reports that are built on top of a Power BI dataset using Import mode. This means that reports built on top of a DirectQuery or Live Connection dataset are not currently supported.
In addition, Paginated Reports, Relational Report Models, and Real-Time Tabular Model Reports are not currently supported for data lineage in Purview.
Regarding Synapse Analytics, Purview supports data lineage for Synapse Analytics data flows, pipelines, and SQL scripts. If you have a Synapse Analytics data flow or pipeline that is registered in Purview, you can view the data lineage for that object in Purview.
For more details, refer to How to get lineage from Power BI into Microsoft Purview
I hope this helps clarify the types of Power BI reports that support data lineage in Purview and the support for Synapse Analytics. Let me know if you have any other questions.
