Dear All,

We have a SCCM server (V. 2303) that we installed it on a Dell physical machine, and it is currently acting as a Distribution point for all Windows 10 endpoints. We also installed & configured SQL Server 2019 on the same server.

As our device count is getting increased, we are planning to move this SCCM + SQL server to virtual server which has high end configurations,

Existing Server: Windows Server 2019

New Server: Windows Server 2022

Could you please let me know the step-by-step instructions on how to process this migration successfully?

    Hello MJ,

In addition, if you want to keep the same config, you can use a P2V (Physical To Virtual) migration, more details:

The site backup maintenance task includes also the CMDB.

You will find more details in the following article about recovering a ConfigMgr site & DB, what's steps to be done before etc:

I have a quick question. I reviewed all the provided links and I'm considering the option to migrate our SCCM server to a newer one "MIGRATE YOUR SCCM SERVER TO A NEWER SERVER". Currently, both SQL and SCCM are on the same server. While the migration link covers backing up and restoring SCCM, it doesn't mention SQL. My question is, when we restore the SCCM configuration, will it also load the existing SCCM database tables in SQL?
