Hi,

we have problem with authentication users in our NPS server - we got error 6273 with reason code 7: specified domain does not exist. We have two office in various localization - firts has namespace: office.contoso.com and second has namespace: office2.contoso.com. In the first and the second localization we have domain controler. Problem is with users from office when they want to connect to wifi in office2 - then this error show in our NPS server on office2. We have to connect this users via LAN (on LAN we don't use 802.1x) to our network in office2, they computer finally get namespace from office2 and they succesfully connect to wifi network in office2. The question is: how to configure NPS thath they sucessfully authentication users from another namespace?

To wifi manage we use cisco WLC.

    Hello there,

The NPS can authenticate and authorize users whose accounts are in the domain of the NPS and in trusted domains.

My first suggestion would be to make sure that you are not using the DNS name of the switch as a RADIUS client but instead use the IP Address.

About Event 6273, refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/dd316135(v=ws.10)?redirectedfrom=MSDN

this article has information about the different reasons and solutions

Please check your username stored in AD, if there are duplicate usernames.

Is this host multihomed? It is not recommended to set domain controller multihomed, this will cause name resolution issues.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
