Dear all,

before installing the updates for SharePoint 2016 OnPrem for June 2023, logon to SharePoint worked this way:

  1. User opens a SharePoint site, he has access to with the account he is loggend on in his Windows: site opens automatically under MS Windows/Edge & Chrome.
  2. User opens a SharePoint site, he has no access to with the account he is loggend on in his Windows: site does not open, but the user will see the "Windows Security" dialogue with "Sign in to access this site" to use another account. This is helpful because some user have multiple/different accounts and also we as administrators do no use our every day-account for admin purposes.

After installing the updates from 06/2023 this week:

User opens a SharePoint site, he has no access to with the account he is loggend on in his Windows: Error message "Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you", but no option to use a different account and no "Windows Security" dialogue.

psconfig runs without errors, last language pack that has been installed was the one from 04/2023, in 05+06/2023 there was no language pack, just the update, so we installed the update only and ran psconfig with no errors.

Any idea?

    Hi @Matthias68 ,

It seems this is not a common issue per my test. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, Please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.

1.Might be because of cached credentials from a prior browser session. Try clearing browser cache.

2.Make sure running the product and configuration wizard after installing the updates.

3.Stop and Start “Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application” service from Central Admin >>Application Management >>Manage services on server.

4.Try clearing the Distribution Cache, Do the IIS reset.

Hope the information can help you. And if there have any unclear or misunderstanding, please feel free to post back and we’ll continue to help you all the time!

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated! Hope you have a good day and keep safe!
