Is there a proximity limit for EDM classifiers?

Hello,

I was creating an EDM classifier in the Microsoft Purview portal. In the "Configure detection rules for primary elements section, you can input the proximity value of the supporting elements to the primary element. I would like to know if there is a maximum value for the proximity. Thank you very much for your assistance.

When I try to implement EDMs on the Purview portal, the number 2147483648 cannot be entered in the proximity box. It seems that the limit is 2147483647, is this possible?

@Francesca Giulianelli - My understanding from the front and backend teams that there is no enforced limit for EDM character proximity limit and no known SCC limitation for that field. The value below in characters looks to result in a very large file (2 G) but DCS only supports classifying files up to 4 MB large (with UTF-16 encoding) so the numbers below are way larger than any file that we can process and don’t really make sense. Note that the default is 300 characters so we’d expect you to maybe enter in a somewhat larger value but nothing like the values below.

There is no enforced limit to it. If the proximity window is large, it impacts the number of token hashes generated for corroborative evidence matching which will translate to classification latency. Default is 300 characters.
