    Hello,

If you've locked a backup disk with BitLocker and are unable to unlock it using the recovery key you have, it can be a challenging situation. Here are some steps you can take to try resolving the issue:

Double-check the recovery key: Ensure that you are entering the recovery key correctly. Pay attention to any letter-case sensitivity, numeric or alphanumeric characters, and dashes. It's possible to mistakenly enter the key incorrectly, so review it carefully.

Try alternative recovery methods: If you have multiple recovery methods configured, such as a recovery key file or a TPM (Trusted Platform Module), try using those alternative methods to unlock the backup disk.

Check other locations for the recovery key: Verify that you have searched thoroughly for the correct recovery key. It's possible that you might have saved it in a different location or under a different name. Look in your digital records, printed copies, or any other safe storage locations.

Check with other authorized individuals: If the backup disk and its recovery key are part of a shared or team setup, consult with other authorized individuals who might have access to the recovery key. Make sure to coordinate and verify if they possess the correct key.

Seek professional assistance: If all attempts to unlock the backup disk fail, it might be necessary to seek professional assistance. Consult with a data recovery service or an IT professional who specializes in BitLocker encryption. They may have specialized tools or techniques that could potentially assist in unlocking the disk.

It's important to note that if all recovery methods fail and you cannot unlock the backup disk, the data on the disk may be irretrievable. Therefore, it's crucial to have appropriate backup measures in place to prevent the loss of critical data in situations like this.
