Where can I find certificate details?

I'm trying to find the certificate details. When I go to Application Gateway and find my listener I can see the cert associated with the listener, but I can't find where to see details of that cert. Can you please tell me where I can see the details? My customer is saying this cert is expiring soon and I want to validate that.

To view the details of a certificate associated with an Application Gateway listener in Azure, you can follow these steps:

Sign in to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com) using your credentials.

Navigate to the Application Gateway resource that contains the listener with the certificate you want to inspect.

In the Application Gateway blade, select the "Listeners" option from the left-hand menu.

Locate the specific listener that is associated with the certificate you're interested in and click on its name to open the listener settings.

In the listener settings, you should see a section labeled "SSL Certificate." This section displays the details of the certificate, including the expiration date.

If you see the certificate thumbprint or name, click on it to open the certificate details in a new blade.

If you don't see the certificate details directly in the listener settings, you can proceed to the next step.

From the listener settings, navigate to the "Backend pools" section in the left-hand menu.

Select the backend pool associated with the listener.

In the backend pool settings, scroll down to the "Health probes" section and click on the health probe that is associated with the listener.

In the health probe settings, you should find an option to view the certificate details. It might be labeled as "View certificate" or "Certificate details."

Click on the appropriate option to view the details of the certificate associated with the listener.

These steps should help you locate and view the certificate details associated with the listener in your Azure Application Gateway. If the steps vary slightly based on the Azure portal's interface changes, you can refer to the Azure documentation or consult the Azure support team for further guidance.

I've followed the instructions for both options provided and still, we cannot find the certificate details. Are you able to join a call and walk through this with me?

We are concerned that this cert is expiring next week and we need to get this resolved today. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find where to validate this in the Azure portal.

Apologies for the delay, I was off last week. I was not able to find any of the cert details. We even tried using the Azure CLI to try and get information but were unsuccessful. My customer determined it expires on the 16th. I would like to know how to find the details in Azure, I followed the instructions provided, but I was not able to find any details.

@KapilAnanth-MSFT Unfortunately, I was never able to find the certificate details in the Azure portal. We were able to verify it through the origin address, though it would be nice to be able to see details in the portal. In any regard, this is no longer an open issue for me. You can close it.

I understand that you would like to update the certificate in an App Gateway listener.

If your goal is to renew it directly, you can follow the below depending on,

Certificates on Azure Key Vault

Certificates on an application gateway

If you'd like to edit/modify the certificates,

Currently, this feature is in preview.

I checked this internally and currently, we cannot check the certificate expiry from Azure Portal for BYOC certificates. (even with the preview feature).

The suggestion is to check the expiry from the web browsers when accessing the site

or

To use Azure Key Vault ( Get notified about certificate expiration )

Should you feel this feature is important and can give better experience to Azure users, you may request for this feature in Azure Feedback Hub.
