After applying two OS patches and four browser patches, Internet option values were released in IE.
(Server's certificate check item, ActiveX check item)
I would like to ask if any of the Windows patches contain patches that may affect the value of the option.

(My window version is 1809 version)

Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for your question and for reaching out with your question today.

Windows patches, including both operating system patches and browser patches, are designed to address security vulnerabilities, bug fixes, and improve system stability. While it's uncommon for Windows patches to directly modify or reset specific Internet Explorer (IE) options, it's not impossible for unexpected behavior to occur due to various factors.

To investigate the issue further and determine if any of the patches you mentioned might have affected the Internet Options values in IE, you can consider the following steps:

    1. Review patch documentation: Check the documentation provided by Microsoft for each patch to see if any known issues or changes to IE or Internet Options are mentioned. Microsoft typically publishes release notes or Knowledge Base articles that provide details about the patches and any associated changes.
    2. Analyze patch contents: If you have access to the patch files or the ability to review their contents, you can examine the files included in the patches to determine if they modify any components or settings related to IE or Internet Options. This would require technical expertise and knowledge of patch analysis techniques.
    3. Check system event logs: Review the system event logs on the affected machines to see if any related errors, warnings, or events are logged that might provide insight into the issue. Look for any entries around the time of patch installation or subsequent system restarts.
    4. Test in an isolated environment: If possible, you can set up a test environment that closely mirrors your production environment and apply the same set of patches. Monitor the behavior of IE and the Internet Options settings after applying the patches to see if any changes occur.

Remember to always apply patches and updates to maintain the security and stability of your systems, but also ensure you have appropriate testing and rollback mechanisms in place to mitigate any unexpected issues that may arise during the patching process.
