Did not find any initialized language workers -I'm getting this error while execution of the azure function written in node js.Initially, the same function with the same code at the time of creation it was successfully executed.But After one week,i tried to execute it and it gave me the error.

I understand that you are encountering the error 'Did not find any initialized language workers' while executing azure function.

Looking at the error it seems like when the function invocation took place, there was not a worker available for it. This could point to a worker crash from a previous function invocation or worker initialization issue. If you are injecting any dependencies, please check if they are done properly and correct versions of SDK are being used.

If this error is seen locally while executing from your local dev machine, then it looks like language worker could have same issue. Try re-installing the function core tool with most recent issue and see if it helps.

Verify if the FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME environment variable is set correctly in your local settings in application.

If the issue is seen after deploying to Azure, then ensure that the Functions App Settings have the below settings:

FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME

The language worker runtime to load in the function app. This corresponds to the language being used in your application (for example, node). Starting with version 2.x of the Azure Functions runtime, a given function app can only support a single language.

WEBSITE_NODE_DEFAULT_VERSION

Windows only. Sets the version of Node.js to use when running your function app on Windows. You should use a tilde (~) to have the runtime use the latest available version of the targeted major version. For example, when set to ~18, the latest version of Node.js 18 is used. When a major version is targeted with a tilde, you don't have to manually update the minor version.

Changes to function app settings require your function app to be restarted.

Not with the scenario only.Now every time i am creating the new azure function with nodejs ,getting the same error with the default template while executing.

@Amal Pushp Thanks for getting back. Please confirm if you are receiving the error while accessing using default template in your local dev machine ( via VS code / VS studio) ? OR is the issue occurring on the default template in Azure portal ? Awaiting your reply.

Same issue here. I am using

node 18

windows

Region in central US

http trigger

consumption plan

develop in portal (not vs code)

the sample code given when function was first created, thrown same error OP posted. No other details in app insights

i have tried delete the function, delete the func resource, delete all data created in the storage blob containers and file shares, then recreate the azure func resources and function in the portal, same error

@Amal Pushp @Suhendri Suhi The issue was caused by azure portal saving test data within the azure functions. Portal team made a fix. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused due to this. ETA for deployment of this fix to prod is 7/14th. We appreciate your patience on this.

Until the fix is made available on the Azure Portal, you can use the workaround to invoke the FunctionAPP from the client side tools (like Postman / Fiddler).

I was able to access my FunctionAPP from the the client side tool ( postman). See below the 200 status success code for my NodeJS Function App:

@Rogerio Alves Until the fix is released follow the workaround mentioned below. Please use postman /fiddler to test your node.js function app. That works fine now. Dont use the portal Test functionality until the fix is released.

@Amal Pushp We have worked internally with our Product Owners and the portal team has deployed the fix. The issue should be fixed now. I am able to Test/Run the NodeJs Function App from the portal as well as from Postman.

Please see the screenshot from my Azure Portal.

Unfortunately I am seeing this error with python code.

isError = True keysList = [] responseMsg = str('MalformedCsv') tries = 1 httpResponseStr = str(json.dumps({'headers': keysList, 'isError': isError, 'message': str(responseMsg)}))

That's actually the other side of a while try except, but on its own it errors, too.

(yes, import json is performed at the start)

Would you be so kind as to share with us how you fixed it? I have the same issue with my Azure Function App. What is the exact change you made to fix this? Is it on the settings on Azure Functions or is it an app code change? What is the root cause?

Restarting the function app solved the issue for me.
