Yes, both commands will work on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. The order of the parameters /f, /r, and /x does not matter.
The /f parameter fixes errors on the disk, the /r parameter locates bad sectors and recovers readable information, and the /x parameter forces the volume to dismount before the process starts.
Running chkdsk with the /f and /r parameters can help scan and repair your drive. However, it’s important to note that while chkdsk can help fix file system errors and bad sectors, it can also cause data loss in some cases if it needs to repair a file.
