Hi, I created an active directory group, let's name it "Test_Group", through azure portal.

  • Membership type: Assigned
  • Source: Cloud
  • Type: Microsoft 365

Now when I open the SSRS web portal and want to add that group to a folder so that all members of that group also become content managers I get the following error:

"The user or group name 'Test_Group' is not recognized.

I also tried to use it with a domain <domain>/Test_Group which also prompts the same error:

"The user or group name '<domain>/Test_Group' is not recognized.

    Hi @Philipp Ferch

According to the official documentation, when adding a group or user, in "Group or User", enter a Windows domain user or group account in the following format: <domain><account>. Can you try '<domain>\Test_Group'?

You can refer to this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/security/grant-user-access-to-a-report-server?view=sql-server-ver16.
