Hi,

I'm confused about one thing to do with RA-GZRS & can't find the information I need.

Let's say I have the following:

West US 3 (Primary)
Storage account : stblobprd

Storage Container: stcont-xyz

East US (Secondary)

Storage account : Is this the same as the one in West US 3?

Storage Container: Is this the same as the one in West US 3?

i.e. how do we access the files from the RA-GZRS storage in East US from East US? Are we able to define these while setting up RA-GZRS or are they decided for by Azure? How does this work?

Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hi,

In your example, the items in East US region are a read-only replica of the items in West US 3. Since there is a lag in replicating data from the primary to the secondary, what you see in East US may not be exactly the same as West US 3.

To access the items from East US, you need to use the FQDN for Secondary endpoint. For example, if primary blob endpoint is https://mystorageacctxr761.blob.core.windows.net then the secondary FQDN would be https://mystorageacctxr761-secondary.blob.core.windows.net .

Please refer to the Endpoints blade for the storage account in the portal for list of primary and secondary endpoints. The FQDNs for secondary are chosen automatically.

Please click Accept Answer if the above was helfpul.

    Thanks.
