Good day.

I have recently created a test DC VM on a free Azure subscription and synced some test users from the AD to Azure AD using AD Connect. When I tried adding the identity to use for Azure AD joining so I can log into the Windows machine with the user, it doesn't work. I get the message "The work or school account couldn't be found". I even tried adding an e3 trial license as I suspect that I might need a license to use the identity for adding the machine as an Azure AD joined device wherein I could log into the machine as that user. That didn't work either.

Can anyone assist me with identifying any limitations or something I might've missed according to my setup?

I remain attentive to your response.

Hello @Shadrick Francis , sounds like the intended account is not being synced to Azure AD from your on-premise AD. Nor Azure AD Connect or Azure AD join require licensing.

For Azure AD Connect deployments of version 1.1.749.0 or later, use the troubleshooting task in the wizard to troubleshoot object sync issues. For earlier versions, you can troubleshoot manually.
