hyper-v connection unsecured in VMconnect page

I am using hyper-v on windows 11 pro.

User's image

The attached image is a vmconnect window that connects to a remote computer. At the bottom right, there are three icons: keyboard, mouse, and padlock.

The lock shape was originally gold, and I can't remember the details, but means connection is secured.

However, after changing to a silver padlock like in that picture, when I hover the mouse over the icon, it says Connection Insecure(I don't know english message because I'm not english user. I translated it)

When accessing every virtual PCs per each, connection insecurity appears, and even if a new virtual PC is created, connection insecurity appears.

Even if I buy a new network adapter as a USB type and replace the old one, it also says that the connection is not secure.

Is there any way to turn connection insecure into secure...? I've tried resetting the entire network, deleting all virtual switches, and even creating a new virtual machine, but connection insecurity still pops up.

I guess it's an SSL certificate error, but I can't find information that there is a certificate in hyper-v... I don't even know the cause.

Thanks for your help.

    Hello there,

f you are seeing an "unsecured connection" warning on the VMconnect page when connecting to a Hyper-V virtual machine, it typically means that the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection to the virtual machine is not using a secure encryption method.

To address this issue and establish a secure connection, you can try the following steps:

Enable enhanced session mode: On the Hyper-V host, open the Hyper-V Manager, right-click on the virtual machine, and select "Settings." Under the "Management" section, select "Enhanced Session Mode" and make sure the "Use enhanced session mode" option is enabled. This will allow the use of secure connections for the VMconnect session.

Update Integration Services: In the virtual machine settings, under the "Management" section, select "Integration Services." Check if there are any updates available for the integration services and install them. Integration services provide better compatibility and performance for the virtual machine.

Verify network connectivity: Ensure that the virtual machine has a proper network connection and can communicate with the Hyper-V host. Check the network adapter settings in the virtual machine's operating system and ensure that it is configured correctly.

Check firewall settings: Verify that the firewall on the virtual machine and the Hyper-V host are not blocking the required ports for RDP. The default RDP port is TCP port 3389, so make sure that port is open in the firewall settings.

Use a VPN connection: If you are connecting to the virtual machine from outside the local network, consider using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection to establish a secure and encrypted connection before connecting to the VMconnect page.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
