Why don't I see anything when attempting to select a staging location during a virtual machine restore?
The staging location you are prompted to select when restoring a virtual machine is a storage account (and it is strongly recommended to create a new storage account when restoring a premium VM). This list of storage accounts are filtered and you may not see the storage account you are looking for based on the following:
- Subscription (chosen above)
- Location (based on the vault)
- Non-ZRS
- Active
- Not attached to any affinity group
- For cost optimization, premium storage accounts are filtered out
- Network restricted storage accounts are disabled
