Disclaimer: We have mentioned a registry fix for the stated problem, it is recommended to take a backup of your entire machine including bookmarks, outlook data files and your user library files before performing the below mentioned practice to fix the issue with Microsoft Store. If the registry entries are incorrectly configured it may turn up to a no boot situation. It advised to perform these steps in the present of an expert or a professional.
- Uninstall Microsoft Store & Reinstall using PowerShell with admin rights using the commands mentioned below.
Uninstall Command
Get-AppxPackage -alluser WindowsStore | Remove-Appxpackage
Reinstall Command
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}*
Microsoft Store fix using Registry.
- Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore
Add a key: WindowsStore if it is not present as mentioned above.
Add a value: Dword 32bit "AddWindowsStore" and set value to 1.
- We are also required to update the Language and the correct region for Microsoft Store to work properly.
This can be amended under settings in Windows.
Restart your machine, test Microsoft Store and update with your findings.
