Hi,

We are continuously receiving High CPU alert on Azure Windows 10 VM. After running performance diagnostics on VM it was found that fmplugin.exe is utilizing the CPU.

"High CPU usage periods were detected. One or more Third-Party processes were the key contributors during these high CPU usage periods."

Please guide how I can resolve this?

I am unable to access the VM but got this critical insight - High CPU instances detected on the VM nm-0 in the last 24 hours. I have already redeployed and could access the VM temporarily, then it disconnected again.

    Hello Nabeel Ahmed

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

Try these troubleshooting steps to see if these help:

fmplugin.exe is not a standard Windows process; it is likely part of a third-party application or software you have installed on the VM. Try to identify what fmplugin.exe is and which third-party software it belongs to.

If there are any updates available for the third-party software, apply them. Sometimes, high CPU usage issues are resolved in software updates.

Perform a full system scan using a reputable antivirus software to ensure that the high CPU usage is not caused by malware or viruses.

If the high CPU usage persists even after updating the software, consider disabling or uninstalling it temporarily to see if the CPU usage drops.

You can also try to increase the VM size to provide more CPU resources to your application.

    Hope this helps.
