How to change Timeframe of Application Event Logs

We are examining our Azure deployments and looking at the Application Event Logs (Server page -> Diagnose and solve problems -> Application Event Logs), however, it only shows the last 24 hours. As it is retrieving the 24 hours of logs there is a brief message that it is, "Analyzing data in Last 24 Hours, to change, use the time range picker". However, there is no time range picker to choose custom dates/times from. There is only Level, Source, Event Id, and Computer as filters, there is nothing that allows choosing the date and time of the events. I want to go back to 2 days ago to an error I know happened. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello @Merrick Fonnesbeck !

    Thanks for the info

For the event logs in the "Diagnose and solve problems" section of an app service, it is usually limited to a 24 hour view .

If you go though the links i provided you can have logging more than 24 hours back in various ways

NOw for your case maybe this will work

Select another measure e.x Memory Usage and select Custom Time Range

    HIt Apply

Then return to Applicaton Logs you will see that time range is changed :

If this does not work look below for the future :

Lets have a look in Application Insights :

    User's image

We can see a wide time range

Also when you click on Diagnostic Settings on the App Monitoring :

Fro here you can select type of Logs an where to send them , Usually the Log Analytics Workspace is the destination and then via Azure Monitor you grab the logs you need

    I hope this helps!

    Hello @Merrick Fonnesbeck !

    Welcome to Microsoft QnA!

In order to gain insights and logs more than 24hours you need to enable Application Insights for detailed performance logs and / or Azure Monitor Logging ( Former Log Analytics) via Diagnostic Settings , look at the second link here :

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/troubleshoot-diagnostic-logs

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/app/azure-web-apps

Application Insights is mainly used for Performance Monitoring

    I hope this helps!
