Dear Community
I have to migrate data from a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Team Foundation Server 2010 to Azure DevOps Server onprem and then finally to the Azure DevOps Server in the cloud.

The server is a virtual machine that has the folloing software installed.
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
SQL Server 2008 R2 Version is 10.50.2550.0
Team Foundation Server 2010 Version is 10.0.30319
Sharepoint Server 2010 Version is 14.0.4763.1000

The SQL Database is 250 GB ! We only have 1 collection with about 70 TFS projects in it.
I only need 2 of these projects to migrate to a Azure TFS Server.

I tried to delete the projects that i do not need first, because i thought that will make all next steps much faster. I deleted 4 projects in the TFS Admin Console but this alone took about 2-3 hours so deleting 70 projects will take 2 weeks and such a downtime is not possible i think.
Can i somehow export these two projects and import them in a newer version of TFS or do i have to migrate the whole system through several TFS veersions to an up to date onpremise version to move the data finally to the cloud ?

The dependencies between the different programs and versions makes me crazy. There are several manuals in the internet but they all tell different things how to do it, some want uninstall first programms while others just want to install the new software und run "update wizards".

I think i have to do the following update steps:
TFS 2010 to 2013 to 2015 to 2022 and then finally to TFS in the Cloud.

Can someone please tell me please what is the correct way to update my Singe Server Installation so i get finally that data to the cloud on a Azure DevOps Server in the cloud?

Thank you very much for your help

Devops / TFS is not currently supported here on Q&A. The product group for Azure DevOps / TFS actively monitors questions over at
