SharePoint Online - image is persistent even after source is deleted

Question

I had an image in a modern document library.

I linked to it in other modern sites.

When I deleted the image, it still rendered in the other sites.

I cleared my cache and opened a new browser, yet the deleted image was still there.

Any ideas why the image is persistent?

Hi vrm, it is a pleasure to be able to help you.

For this issue, I tested locally. If I delete the source image file, in another website that links to images. The preview of the image on the home page also disappears after clearing the browser cache.

Since we are not sure how you link the image in other site, would you mind providing more details on this issue so that I we can do better troubleshooting : )
