I hope to create text-davinci-003, but the deployment prompts that fine-tuning is required before it can be called. Additionally, I am unable to create a custom model for fine-tuning. Please provide a solution.

Looks like you are referring to Azure OpenAI Service legacy models.

As mentioned, The following models are not available for new deployments beginning July 6, 2023. Deployments created prior to July 6, 2023 remain available to customers until July 5, 2024. We recommend customers migrate to the replacement models prior to the July 5, 2024 retirement.

GPT-3.5

The impacted GPT-3.5 models are the following. The replacement for the GPT-3.5 models is GPT-3.5 Turbo Instruct when that model becomes available.

• code-davinci-002

I am unable to create a custom model for fine-tuning. Please provide a solution.

Fine tuning is currently not available for new customers as it is turned off for all regions. Unfortunately, we don't have any ETA at this moment when fine tuning opens again.

The models page will be updated as soon as we open up regions for fine tuning and users should be able to submit requests when it is made available.

If you have previously fine-tuned & deployed in a region, then you can fine tune in that region if it's available.

Alternatively, you could use Azure OpenAI on your data feature with Open AI which might remove the need / requirement for fine tuning.
