Domain GPO Profiles

Hi All,

I hope that someone might be able to help or offer some advice.

I have been given a task to move all my VM's onto another host - generally a simple task but we don't have vmotion working due to license restrictions between HQ and Satelite sites.

I have to backup the servers using Veeam and restore it to another host. I have already done this for one server and had no issues, however, I have another server which I want to move and has user profiles located on it.

It has a static IP address range of 192.168.83.0 255.255.255.0. The host that I am moving the server to has a different IP address range 10.234.109.0 255.255.255.0. I am not able to change the ranges of the host that I am going to move the server too.

If I change the IP address of the server to an IP address in the 10.234.109 range would that cause any problems when users attempt to login?

I am not sure how users actually get their profiles and how they actually locate the profile other than what it says in the GPO (attached).

Also, I have noticed that some of the profile Date modified have dates back in 2020. Does this mean that the user has not accessed the profile since then?

The Path in the GPO is \iqarus.com\profiles%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming and you have to be a member of a security group in order for access.

Could someone offer some advice here as I am unclear as to whether these profiles are actually in use, and unclear to me how they get accessed given the Path above.

Thanks in advance.

A safer method may be to shut down, export from one and import the virtual machine to the other host.
