I worked around this by upgrading to 2019 first, then to 2022.
Windows Server 2012 VM In-place upgrade to Windows 2022
Hello together,
As I try to update a Ws2012 Vm to Ws2022 I get the following error message: **We can't tell if your PC is ready to continue installing Windows Server. Please try again.
**
I've alreday updated PS,NET and all updates from MicrosoftUpdate.
I've fixed the inf problems so that no problems apear in my PS Summary:
- Get-ChildItem CompatData*.xml | Select-String 'BlockMigration="True"'
The Hyper-V-Host is a Ws2019 Standard
The Vm has the configurationversion "9.0"
The Tls12 is also active.
Have you more ideas what I could try to get a seccsessfull in-place update?
I has to be a in-place.

This error message can occur when the system is unable to determine if there is enough space available to continue with the installation. However, it seems that you have already checked for this issue and have taken steps to resolve it.
Here are some additional suggestions that may help you resolve this issue:
Check for any pending updates: Make sure that all pending updates have been installed on the WS2012 VM before attempting the upgrade.
Check for any incompatible software: Some software may be incompatible with the upgrade process and may need to be uninstalled before attempting the upgrade.
Check for any hardware issues: Make sure that the hardware of the WS2012 VM meets the minimum requirements for running WS2022.
Check the logs: The logs may contain more detailed information about what is causing the error. You can check the logs by going to Event Viewer and looking for any relevant entries.
