When support for iOS 17 comes out for MAUI, will it be possible to build for iOS 17 using .net6.0 or will .net7.0+ be required?

Thanks in advance

    Hello,

Apple has not yet released Xcode 15, and it is still in beta.

As announced at Announcing .NET MAUI in .NET 8 Preview 7: Keyboard Accelerators - .NET Blog (microsoft.com): We are preparing to introduce Xcode 15 support in the next .NET 8 release for the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Mac Catalyst, tvOS, and CarPlay. From that point forward .NET 8 will use Xcode 15 which we anticipate to be the stable Xcode at the time .NET 8 ships in November.

will it be possible to build for iOS 17 using .net6.0 or will .net7.0+ be required?

From the .NET MAUI Support Policy, .NET MAUI 6 is no longer supported.

From this User Story: As a developer I can build apps with Xcode 15 and .NET 8 #14030, there is no backport tag.

Since preview version is not supported on Q&A, it's recommended that you follow the progress at GitHub- [META] Xcode 15.0 Support for .NET 8 and MAUI #17837 and add comments to know whether there is any plan to support .NET7.

    Best Regards,

    Wenyan Zhang
