How to configure the 'WIN 11 file explorer' when configuration does not work?

My 'WIN 11 file explorer' can't be configurated presently. MS professionals of the German MS community have sent me to you.

I'm an old WIN fellow + have configured the (Swiss German) WIN edition many times in the last over 20 years.

  • Presently, it's for the 1st time that I waste my time either in using the 'file explorer' or in trying to configure it.
  • I would like to deactivate 'file type' (instead, I have activated the 'file type' on the individual level already) + would like to move such data like 'date' etc. more to the right 'explorer' wide (instead of moving it each time I open a file folder).
-- And it's for the first time that I have to 'Share enough details about the problem for the community members to reproduce or correctly understand your issue.' (see your request above) without the possibility of adding a picture as prove of my words (how come?).
-- Please help me adding a picture showing that 'WIN 11 Pro' / 22H2 / build 22621.2134 (as of 230803) as an example has several essential 'file explorer' commands in its main menu that MS has set to 'gray' (inactive).

Most serious 'WIN 11' users want to configure their 'file explorer'.

  • The problems described above are not new, but well knows since quite a while (their are others, unfortunately).
  • How is it possible that MS has such problems with 'WIN 11' being introduced on 2021-10-05 (!!). I'm angry.

    Hello there,

Sometimes, File Explorer issues can be resolved by simply restarting the File Explorer process. You can do this by:

Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.

Locate "Windows Explorer" in the list of processes.

Right-click on it and select "Restart."

The System File Checker tool can help repair corrupted system files that might be affecting the functionality of File Explorer.

Open the Command Prompt as an administrator. To do this, search for "Command Prompt" in the Start menu, right-click on it, and select "Run as administrator."

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow

Let the tool scan and repair any corrupted files.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
